Want to hear a ridiculous dieting technique? Bite counting.

Count every bite you take and every swallow you make for everything you eat except water. Sounds insane, right?

Well, researchers tested this method on a group of (desperate) overweight and obese Americans. Several, of course, quit soon after beginning the study, but those who stuck with it for a few weeks cut down their bite counts by 20-30% and lost a whopping 3.5 pounds.

Not very impressive for all of that tedious counting.
