I was recently awarded the top prize at this year’s three minute thesis competition where scientists attempt to explain their PhD thesis to a lay audience in under 3 minutes. You are allowed only 1 slide and absolutely no notes.
In the preliminary rounds, the judges were impressed and sent me to the provincial competition as the representing student for the University of Toronto.
